at the Pacific association (regional) usatf meet this past weekend, I saw Remi Korchemny (lifetime ban from the balco case) get escorted out by the meet director.
Then an hour later on the other side of the field, I saw him being kicked out again near a different entrance, with the meet director yelling that he would disqualify his athletes if he caught him coming in to coach them again.
Then an hour later, I saw him sneak in another entrance just in time to watch the 400m hurdles. He yelled at his two athletes in that race as they ran past him, then he immediately left, presumably so he wouldn't be kicked out again.
With the recent outing if Aden, I thought I would post this story. I've asked the Brojos multiple times now to cover the fact that Remi is still coaching despite a lifetime ban, so I thought I'd ask again.
Brojos, I think this story is worth covering and looking into. The vast majority of us in this sport want a clean sport. We have to demand real teeth to a lifetime ban and that people like Remi be held accountable.
The meet director at the usatf PA regional meet did the right thing by kicking him out, but he failed to not taking it further. Athletes are clearly not allowed to work with a banned coach. He should have followed up on his threats to submit to the USATF who he saw being coached by Remo.
