What is the best type of spike for sprinting: pyramid or christmas tree?
Is there an optimal spike length for sprinting? I'm going to run in a meet allowing 1/4" spikes. I'm thinking of running in 1/4" christmas tree spikes. I've been practicing in 1/8" pyramid spikes and am about to try out some 1/4" christmas tree spikes purchased recently.
Will running in a longer spike (1/4" in this case) increase the chance of injury? Does running in a longer spike require a change in running form, foot strike, etc?
