All you hipsters with your "cool ink"better get tested
This is actually pretty old news, but thanks for the updated link! In pertinent part, it says: "After accounting for other risk factors, the difference between people with and without hepatitis was even greater, with four times as many tattoos in the infected group than for uninfected people."
Hep C is a killer. It kills more Americans than HIV does:

I (and others) have been ranting about tats for years on this forum--maybe somebody will pay attention this time. Forget aesthetics--tattoos are an invitation to get hepatitis C.
If you read the article it says "there have been no reports of hepatitis C outbreaks linked to professional tattoo parlors in the United States". It literally points out in the article that you should not be getting Hep C from a tattoo if you get it done right.
What it does say is that people who have Hep C also tend to have tattoos. I doubt that comes as a surprise to anyone. People who are doing the sorts of activities that get you Hep C also tend to get tattoos. Most fat people consume vegetables but most people aren't advising you to stop eating vegetables.
Problem solved!
