Apologize for genocide in one part of Asia 70 years ago, but not the genocide in Syria right now?

Yeah, those peace loving Japanese. Minding their own business, not hurting anyone.

But Bush
The half million American potential casualties that would have resulted from the invasion of Japan, went down on their proverbial knees and gave thanks that we built a nuclear weapon and had the will to use it against those monsters who had murdered millions of innocent civilians in the countries they brutally occupied beginning with the attack on China in 1937.

In actual fact, it was the sudden declaration of war against the Japanese by the Soviets that broke the Japanese camel’s back.
Their high command weren’t that much bothered about how many of their civilians were killed.
They were ready to risk the lives of their whole population in defence of Japan had the US been obliged to invade.
He in no way apologized.
I wonder if Shinzo Abe will get round to aplogising to the victims of the atrocities that the Japaneses committed in World War Two?
Or he could at least stop visiting shrine that honor the murderers who committed those atrocities.
JFK, LBJ , and Tricky Dick are burning in hell for the Vietnam atrocity.

Much respect to you... I sometimes point this out and get shit on for it, rarely hear it from anyone else. Getting occupied by Russians was a nightmare to them.
The other thing nobody ever says is the bomb was needlessly used on civilians. A military target would have demonstrated its power just as well, if not better because Japanese military experts would have quickly analyzed the damage. Instead they used it as a terror weapon and set the precedent for its role ever since.
Civilians were warned of the impending bombings.
Why doesn't Mongolia/China apologize for wiping out 65% of the people of Europe 1300-1500?

O.K. but why exactly did the US have to invade and massacre millions of innocent people in Asia after the Civil War ended is the real mystery to me

The Japanese wanted to surrender earlier, but the United States refused to enter into any discussions. The Japanese wanted to discuss peace terms as early as 1942. It was the United States that wanted to continue the war, not the Japanese. Blame the United States for all the unnecessary deaths.
Obama did not apologize. More nonsense on Letsrun.

If you consider a total U.S. surrender to be peace terms, then yeah you're correct. Enough of the liberal BS, we saved the free world in the 1940's, there should be shrines to Churchill and Truman erected in every City.
Let's bomb it again while he's there...

What a chump.
The Japanese were still invading countries even as late as in 1944.
They even tried to invade India for heaven’s sake.
My father fought at Kohima, 1944, the battle that finally ended their ambitions in that part of the world.
He never talked much about it, but it was an epic battle worthy of being compared to Iwo Jima for heroism.
Obama does not love America

Then you didn't read Oliver Stone's piece in the LA Times yesterday. What a joke. What a tortured cherry-pick of statements out of context. And so timely on Memorial Day weekend, to trample on the graves of the men and women who risked and gave their lives. But the beautiful thing about America is that we have the freedom to tolerate such historical nonsense.
