So I run for a D1 school and I'm really considering quitting the team. I just finished my freshman year running XC and indoor track (one meet) and getting redshirted for outdoor. I was alright in high school, but I'm absolutely awful now. I ran a few marathons between XC and track and did really well, but everything fell apart and my performe went down the drain. My self esteem vanished and I feel embarrassed to run because I'm so slow. I don't even enjoy running anymore and I haven't ran in a month. I was so passionate about running (I've only been running for like 3 years) and it's completely gone. I enjoy strength training and I've been getting into weightlifting. I just love seeing the constant improvement and muscle growth. I also love triathlons. Should I go down that route and quit track? There are just so many perks when you're a student athlete that I really like, but if I join our schools weightlifting team, it's a "club", so I wouldn't get any of the benefits like free tutoring, early registration for classes, advisors, etc.
