Anyone know anything current about Brandeis distance running? Someone I know is thinking of going there in the fall. He is admitted - has run 4:35/10:00 and would like to run in college.

My good friend runs for them, if you give me their email I can put him in touch with one of their athletes. He's run 15:28 for the 5000 and 4:30 for the mile.
Your friend will be given a chance to walk on and I think he will make it if he keeps on his current path.
My guess is they use New Balance gear.........
Brandeis is the laughing stock of the UAA. Last at every conference meet, indoors, outdoors, XC, they're last to show up to the banquet for christ sake. If you want to be any good stay way

PATENTLY FALSE.
WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY is the laughing stock of the UAA. Bunch of try hards can't win half their meets, ALWAYS choke at NCAAs, and aren't even the smartest school (Chicago runs laps - ha ha - around them).
Brandeis is a fine school, and their coach is a great guy. If you want, I'd be happy to drop him an email or head over to his office and preface your note. Go Judges!
Objectively, Brandeis tends to do worse in the team race than everyone else in UAAs. That's just empirical. They do tend to have some individual talents though. I remember 5-7 years ago their guys had quite a few MD studs. They just never seem to have a lot of depth though. I would think the coach would be happy to let your son on the team, as I'd bet there's a spot.
That being said, I don't really get why they aren't better. It seems like it'd be relatively easy to recruit there. It's a good school, and being near Boston is nice. I remember hearing rumors that their old coach just didn't recruit much, which would explain some.
I wouldn't put much into this person's offer. Because I don't know who they are referring too, as the Brandeis is a woman.

This thread needs to die
When it comes to running at Brandies, Dan Suher is the man. No doubt.

Classic Brandeis.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
