DD is looking to run for a liberal arts college at the D3 level beginning in Fall 2017 with a focus on NESCAC and mid-Atlantic schools.
As she says "I'm looking to be a student-athlete at a top liberal arts college so I can both excel academically and compete in varsity-level sports. While my career has just started (as I only began running for my high school team in 2014), I am confident that I can continue to grow as a runner, especially given what I have already accomplished"
She's worked really hard as a student and has achieved a single-sitting 34 ACT (subscores of 36 Reading, 36 English, 35 Science, 30 Math and 36 Writing), 3.9 UW GPA/4.2 Weighted GPA, National Merit Commended Scholar (NJ), will be an AP Scholar, and is looking for a liberal arts college where she can study a wide range of subjects from Environmental Science to History to ?.
She's a developing runner who continues to get better every season (x-country, winter track, spring track). She's currently running a 5:52 mile consistently this Winter and Spring which is a :20 PR from sophomore year, and was running a 20:50 in 5k cross country last Fall, and she believes that she will continue to get faster. She is lucky to be on a team with several nationally recognized D1 recruits so it pushes her to be the best she can be. She will be a captain of the x-country team next Fall.
She's reached out to several coaches, has gotten some good responses and wants to make sure that she's doing everything she can to be a student athlete in college.
Any suggestions on what she should be doing as she looks to apply ED at her top choice in the Fall would be appreciated.
