If he trained for it, and raced it consistently, does anybody have a doubt that he would have beat El Geurrouj's old record.

When has Mo raced consistently at any distance?
His training methods, whatever they are, only seem to allow him brief windows of racing shape after which it's back to training. I suspect it has something to do with how skinny he is when in racing shape. Can't stay like that for long and not get injured or faint.

He's been supposedly training for 5k/10k and hasn't beaten Bekele's records. He hasn't even tried.
Mo ha no prayer, excuse my language! If his 3'28" and 26'46" were legit, he sure would have broken 3000m record as well as the 5000m or at least run under 12'45" consistently. Instead, he barely breaks 13 mins for 5000m and 7'35" for 3000m. What a wimp!

Yeah, what a wimp! Running those fake times and tryna pretend to everyone! Mo Farah has never LEGIT run under 27 or 3:32. He's a fake
I have many doubts about him breaking ANY record at any time.
I'd like to see him win a top level 1500 before attempting a record.
As it is now, the closest he would get would be if he offered to rabbit for Kiprop.

+1. Doesn't have the speed for 3:25.
I dunno man, that 3:28, I feel like for someone who has only come out and raced that event for real once, if that was his focus than he could have at least gone low 3:26 on the perfect day

He does not really have the speed for 3:28 either!

You're trolling too hard. Back off a bit

... Oh wait ...
Are you guys saying that it is completely absurd that he could have gone ANY faster than his 3:28 at ANY point in his career? Even with a hard core taper?
Kiprop is the only person close to beat his record.. Farah couldn't even beat Makhloufi and Iguider in that fast Monaco race last year. Maybe if he was actually in 1500 pace he might have a chance but nowhere near Kiprop's speed
I know Meb Farah won Boston and TATA New York Marathon, so in runners terms it would be "insane" if he could also win 1500. But lets face it, this is all JOGGING (or even SLOGGING when in regards to the Marathon).
Bottom line is this: with all the slow speed training for these distances, you will never be BUFF. Just look at all the Kenyan runners. The problem is though that women these days have evolved. They don't like SKINNY/SCRAWNY runners anymore. They want BIG MUSCLE guys with a great PHYSIQUE. Long distance jogger simply can't offer that.

Let us consider than in a span of a few months, Farah ran a 2:08 marathon, a 59:30 half, and 3:28 for 1500.
I will wager that is not ideal training for maximum 1500 performance. And he's run 3:28 twice. It's rare enough to have someone ever run sub 3:29 even once, let alone twice.
While I'm not saying he's sub 3:26.00, I do not doubt Farah could win top international 1500s and run under 3:28 if that was his goal. Time's running out though. He certainly has to be very close to to the top of the bell curve. Only question, is it just before or just after the peak?

Mo Farah
Meb Keflezighi
Those are 2 different runners
Being the best 5000 runner in the world, he should be great at 1500. His marathon performance was nothing special given his running pedigree.
That's why Middle Distance is the way to go
