Scroll down for the post. She claims to have already run a 51:31 on the course. Who is she??

Was she at least relaxed? This is very important
From Facebook:
Quakertown Rotary: "Jill is a newcomer to the racing scene. She is no joke. Come out on race day and run with her."

Old Woman wrote:The PCS e-mail references a 52:12 record, but isn't it 51: something set by Molly Huddle in 2015? Has anyone alerted Molly that her record's about to fall? ;)
Did Huddle run in a women-only race? USATF lists Janet Bawcom's 52:12 as the fastest women-only time, fastest overall is Deena Kastor's 51:31 en route to her AR half marathon. It's important to get these things sorted before the race, it would be a shame if Jill runs 51:35 and only later finds out that she just missed the record.
Mary Keitany is the recognized 10mi world record holder in 50:05 (en route).
+1

Maybe she races in a wheelchair?
If she was able to run as fast as was claimed during a training run, imagine what she can do with competition involved on race day!
I wish I lived in the area so I could go check this out.
I have volunteered for a fairly large 5K charity race put on in my area and one year a guy comes rolling through the finish around 12:20 and half of the volunteers thought he had run a legit road 5k in 12:20. Despite me telling them it was not correct, they didn't want to believe me. Not to mention the guy was a little chubby and approaching 50 years old. Turns out he decided to turn around early (course was a lollipop) and decided against the loop. He didn't intend to cheat; he immediately told people he didn't run the course, but even long-time volunteers thought we had a new course record of over 2:30.
Sometimes people believe what they want to believe... My guess is that poor Jill has no idea what is going on.

Pretzel City is a legit timing company, so I would think they would be able to call bs if they saw it (and especially before sending out an email). Maybe this thing is for real. A quick google search of the runners name finds nothing.
I used to be on Pretzel City's email list. The owner liked to send funny emails, but they were obvious jokes.
I am assuming we will be seeing her trying to qualify for the Olympics at either the 5k or 10k?

Me too. They were often really obscene sex humor. Surprised me that they'd do that on such an open widely distributed list.
I am VERY excited to learn all about Jill. I hope Let's Run gets an interview ASAP.

The coolest thing would be if it were actually true. Going from unknown to fastest American woman of all time would be a huge story, especially in an Olympic year. It'd be cool for Letsrun to get the scoop before NBC, ESPN et al.

She might as well go for the WR if she's going for the US record.
Better make it sub 50 minutes, Radcliffe ran 50:01 en route in Great North Run in 2003.

Letsrun got the scoop on my Marine Corps Marathon cheater...then it was picked up by Runners World, Military Times, The Washington Post and others.
This would, obviously, be a huge deal if true. The fact that no one can find anything at all on this lady makes me think it's a fantastic trolling job.
From this review, the course doesn't appear, ummm.... record friendly?
Do we have ourselves a Sidd Finch of road racing?
I'm guessing she's a wheel chair racer. this was purposely left this out of all PR, and now the thread is 3 pages long. Props to them for a great marketing campaign. The race organizers are sitting back and laughing at their success.

I tend to agree, but they are asking runners to spend non-fictional money to register and watch a record attempt. And certainly the 10 mile wheelchair record, if there is such a thing, is nowhere close to that. I think they've gone too far for it to be funny when they say "ha, ha, just kidding".
Jill Greathouse is a legit road runner. It will be close!
LOL at calling Jill Greathouse an unkonwn
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
