Strictly speaking Goucher is right: The USADA is still investigating and justice is coming. No real news here.
I'm just wondering what Goucher will say if the USADA finds no wrongdoing by NOP which I believe is highly likely. Everything I have read on this story points to Salazar doing exactly what he said he would do with NOP. That he wouldn't dope but he would do everything within the bounds of the doping rules to give NOP athletes an advantage.
But USADA told me that if they investigate someone and find no wrongdoing, they don't make an announcement. The investigation is technically always open, because new evidence may come forth.
So is rubbing a banned substance all over your non-athlete kid to see how much it takes to trigger a positive a violation? We'll never know unless USADA decides to tell us. If they were to make an announcement clearing Salazar/Rup/NOP of all allegations, that would be a major policy change for them.
The closest case I can think of for a timeline is Tyson Gay/Jon Drummond... Gay tested positive in June 2013. USADA sanctioned Drummond in December 2014. So really, this could drag on for another year. Yay.
