Do Millennials even understand the greatness that was Buddy Holly?
Do Millennials even understand the greatness that was Buddy Holly?
Millennials only like low-quality, over-produced, digital music that sound passable in earbuds but like krap in concert.
To Charlie:
Playin' the field all day long
Since I found out I was wronged
Well I'm lookin' for someone to love
I'm lookin' for someone to love
Well if you're not here
But baby I don't care
'Cause I'm lookin' for someone to love
"I'm Looking For Someone To Love" by Buddy Holly

Exactly. That's why independent artists flourished in your generation, while only big label acts are able to succeed today. Oh, wait, that's the opposite of the truth.

Do you understand the greatness of Jimmy Page
Buddy Holly died nearly 57 years ago. I'm a grandfather and Buddy Holly was older than my parents and died before I was born.
Buddy Holly was great, but there are a few generations between him and millenials.
some do but some don't. Probably most don't but enough do to keep the memory and influence alive.
Rave on!
If he's so great then how come he's dead?

And Hendrix opened for the Monkees!
Elvis was greater. He may not have been while the 50's were happening but history always revises who the great musicians were in a given era. Sometimes it is wrong but it was right to forget all about Def Leppard.
Baby Boomer here. Watch this and then ask yourself, "Buddy who?"

Buddy wrote his own songs. I think he was a better singer too.
Buddy > Elvis

Agreed. I've never heard of them before either. But something tells me that Brian Setzer has.
