Watch the video below, UA claims that they have a mouthguard that has been shown to decrease lactic acid production by 25% and boost your reaction time by 12%. Many pitchers in the MLB have begun wearing them which got me curious. Thoughts?

That sounds spurious to me.
Apparently they've been around for a few years and they cost $500!
Increases Strength
With improved airflow and less stress from clenching, UA Performance Mouthwear has been proven to increase strength by an average of 17% with the UA Performance Mouthpiece and 12% with the UA Performance Mouthguard.
Increases Endurance
UA Performance Mouthwear enlarges airway openings, resulting in 25% less lactic acid build-up after 30 minutes of intense exercise.
Speeds Up Reaction Time
Athletes may respond faster when wearing UA Performance Mouthwear. Clinical trials show an improvement in responding to auditory cues and potential improvement in response to visual cues.
LOL!

I think the research has shown that the 20 dollar ones work just as well. They might not be as comfortable though.
As far as this being an underarmour thing. There is at least 10 years of research that predates UA selling thier product.
Their marketing researchers were paid a bundle!
Its a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
The theory is that wearing a mouth guard makes it difficult to breathe thus negatively impacting loads of physiological parameters. The truth is that those physiological parameters are unchanged in subjects who are trained in using a mouth guard.
As someone who has worn a mouth guard while performing physical activity I can tell you it is uncomfortable and takes time getting used to.

I worked at the UA corporate headquarters for a period of my career, and since have moved on.
The research lab at UA is immaculate; it looks like a piece of the USS enterprise. That being said, I test wore other products, as did coworkers who were athletes/former athletes, and besides the tech tees that UA founded it's company on, much of the "bizarre" projects were just that, bizarre.
In today's market, and in the culture at UA, appearances and prestige are everything. They are trying to fill every major and minor market with a revolutionary piece of gear, at the expense of practically and substance (and affordability). Their mission statement says they are a company for athletes, not the guy on the couch, yet they still make size XXL for the aspiring Ravens offensive lineman.
Once they start focusing their efforts on making great products over okay or gimmicky products, people will cough up the ridiculous cost of some of their items. Until then, as a runner in my free time, I'll pass on the Apollos and cotton performance socks for my go to brand(s) that know which sport to belong.

As in a place where a great amount of fictional lines are read in front of a camera by wanna-be celebrities? And a ship where the inspirationally moral motto is, "We must protect this house" ? Sounds like the USS NRA
Once they start focusing their efforts on making great products over okay or gimmicky products,..
This is like saying, "Once LetsRun.com starts focusing their efforts on having someone check the spelling and grammar on their homepage..." In both cases, it's about 10 years too late.

The truth sucks
I think you really missed the whole point what I wrote. Adding in quips about my statements doesn't add anything but inches to your ego's d1ck.
I bought a few of their performance socks and every single one has a hole in the big toe after 1 month. Some of them got holes after a single long run. Never again buying them.
When I was working at a Fleet Feet they had the Superfeet people come in for a talk (because under the new ownership, our expected sales ratio had gone from the previously requested 20% ratio up to 50%, and many of us were balking) and the guy giving the talk said that some of their research had shown that you could actually improve dental and other maxiofacial problems by using Superfeet inserts, which would improve posture enough to take pressure off of the neck and shoulders which in turn would relieve tension in the jaw. Truly amazing crocks some of these gimmicky companies come up with.
I know the researchers who did the first university studies on this product. I can assure you of two things... 1) they didn't receive much funding to carry out the studies, and 2) they wouldn't jeopardize their careers to make UA's products sell. Additionally, I doubt the funding they received even covered part of their salaries, I believe they still taught full course loads.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
