Need a spin bike because winter sucks.
Can I get a good one for under $500?
What brands are considered quality?
I need one to help with rehab while I'm off running for a while.

I would get a real bike and some rollers. You can get a single speed Nashbar for like $200, and then if you get injured when the weather is nice you can get outside. You could get a their cyclocross single speed for $300 and then you could hit some dirt with it too.
Otherwise, you can join a number of gyms for less than $30 a month. If you have blue cross (in the US), you can pay $25 a month and get access to snap/24/la fitness, etc. No maintenance and access to other amenities, most of them will have spin bikes you can use at just about any time. My LA Fitness has a 2 hour spin class on Sunday mornings for guys who want to get in a long ride, which really helps break up the monotony of sweating in your living room trying to watch your sad 36' box TV while bouncing.
Just a thought.
