I'm a junior in highschool currently and looking into applying to some top D3 colleges (Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Pomona, etc.). I am solid academically but still probably borderline for most of the above schools. I may or may not want to run in college, but I have heard that showing strong interest in a school's running program while also being good enough to contribute can help significantly for getting into colleges. I'm not good enough to be actually getting recruited anywhere but how good would I actually have to be for running to give me a leg up? Would a 4:45-50 /2:00-02 be competitive? I have been injured for much of most of my high school running seasons so I don't have a very good sense of how well I could do.
Thanks for any and all input!
