what a dumb article
there are a lot of marines - male or female - who can't make special forces
in absolute numbers, there is a much larger amount of male marines who can't cut it than females
fox news never ceases appeal to the lowest common denominator
Stephanie Hightower was a US Navy SEAL.

The gist of the article is that there are NOT ANY females who can make it without special treatment. Have you seen how the flounder at American Ninja Warrior?
The referenced article is written by an irresponsible individual. The sort of pitting of USMC against the four/five conventional branches is weak, sophomoric, and counter to the stated mission of the 14 year old US War on Terrorism. Marines don't have 'special' personnel and non-special personnel. All Marines are trained with extreme combat skills as required by Congress and are regularly assigned the most risky, high-casualty, certain-death missions. Marines rely on the conventional 4/5 branches for medical care, hospitals, ammunition, food, supplies, air cover, tents, transportation, etc. and appreciate to no end what they do for the Corps and for America.

I am not sure whether I support the idea of females being in the Marines or not. I do know, however, that the OP is not qualified to fasten the bra strap of any lady who has the courage to try.

Are you saying they can't even do that for themselves?

YES DEFINITELY
IT'S SO SAD WHAT MARINES DO TO THEIR MEN
MARINES TORTURE THEIR MEN TO BREAK THEM
THE ONES THEY DON'T LIKE THEY KICK OUT WITHOUT V.A. BENEFITS
THOSE MEN ARE DUMPED ON THE COUNTY AND STATE MEDICAL SYSTEMS IN NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND CALIFORNIA
IT'S A HUGE BURDEN ON COUNTY AND STATE TAXPAYERS TO CARE FOR MEN BROKEN MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY MAIMED BY THE MARINES
Just look at the AMERICAN NINJA WARRIORS
I believe 1 women ever qualified for the National Finals in Vegas (the rest were wildcards).
No women ever completed stage 2 of the American Ninja Warriors. Countless men have done so.

That's ridiculous. Comparing the regular military branches to Marines is like comparing a fresh cut salad to a fossilized salad. The 5 Regular Military [NG, AR, NV, AF, CG] services are certification and degree based, like cross fit with a grading system, with zero abuse and torture. The Marines are 100% the opposite, totally and completely different. The Marines are based on Middle East/European medieval traditions with non-optional, involuntary, mental and physical torture at all ranks, enlisted, officer, jet pilots, every one, no execptions.
Do they focus on all of that because the Marines never get "sent in" anymore?
The whole concept is so outdated when you send in a tiny select team and expect them to perform miracles against an AK toting civilian population.
The policy has always been is that If there's no national emergency, Marines are kept in their cages. Today, Syria and Afghanistan is not an emergecy, so garrison troops are mostly being used in Afghanistan and Syria. Politically Obama has to cow tow to the Pentagon brass, give the 5 regular services the same exposure as the USMC, so as you see in Syria and Afganistan some USMC units are being deployed to keep the Pentagion from imploding agaiin {as it has many times before} from 'Inter-service Rivalries'.

The Pentagon is always fighting the last war. They are always spending money on building something that they enemy, who doesn't have as much money, has already come up with a way to defeat.
Right now instead of wasting time/money on figuring which jobs women should have, they should just open up everything. Yes, some will die, women and men, but every day the Pentagon makes poor calls that allow some to die unnecessarily. It is time to get over the question and start working on the answer.

Are you saying you like to deep throat?
Go away Randy.
The Boy Scouts are tougher than marines.
General Neller was quited as saying that women Marines have been in combat for many years. But from my classmates here who were Marines, the male Marines never call on the females for suicidal combat maneuvers, nor will male Marines in stateside training physically strike, beat, or pummel a female Marine.GI Jehovah wrote:
