What the heck?!?!?! No one broke 26? 9th place? Wow.

I mean seriously! Flotrack loves them, and they proclaim themself to be, regardless of division, a top 5 team in the nation.
Haters be hating the winningest program in NCAA history.
Be patient with this young group.
No excuses.
Back to work.
"They" proclaim what? You must be a jogger. Benchwarmer. Non-factor type of runner. 11th type career man. Never scored, never even displaced anyone. Let their actions speak.
Adams State's 1-7 were separated by only 34 seconds. 2-4 finished together only 8-9 seconds back of their 1. It's early. It looks like they probably pack ran it as a glorified workout.

Not that impressive when they're only winning D2 ever year... They probably wouldn't have a single D1 victory if they were able to bump up.
Not what you think. wrote:

why come all this way and run in the d1 race just to workout?
Something definitely went wrong for them. ALL of them ran bad. Usually that means rough travel, something bad to eat, training mistake, or they peaked for their home meet (joking).
Knowing Adams and their history of success, this is going to be the low point of the season and they will get much better. Will they win? No idea. But before you all say "ITS ALL OVER".......think. It'll be an interesting year.
lol as if not every other team is training hard. yet they're still able to break 26 minutes in a not even 5 mile race..............

Yeah, even the workout excuse is weak here. 11th ranked Lock Haven ran half of their squad at their home invite and still averaged low 26s. If Adams can't compete with that then they can't get close to winning this thing.

No one has been agreeing with me in the other threads. They are only going to choke more and more as the season goes on, because their foreigners and middle aged men are gone. Lets goo Grand Valley!! Altitude is NOT a good enough excuse.
Get real "GV Fan". Across the board NCAA is far gone from being 'MERICANS ONLY. Adams is fairly well known and recommended in some European and Australian running circles. They knock at Adams door, not the other way around.
Adams had a bad one at griak but they will be ready to roll on the only day that matters. We've seen them at their worst. At their best, GV will have a battle on their hands no doubt. GV hasn't impressed yet either.
Baby fight
I always laugh at people who spend money to get a worthless degree out in the middle of nowhere for the opportunity to compete for "national championships" at schools like Adams.
It looks like times overall were a little slow. Depending on the course conditions it is hard to compare times year to year or course to course. Adams State has had some great teams over the years, and this may not be their best team, but I would still expect them to be fairly competitive at the D2 level as the depth of competition at D2 is not as good at it is at D1 nowadays. That being said, over the years there have been some D2, JUCO and NAIA programs that have been capable of running with the big dogs of D1. The old Blinn College teams back in the day use to run neck and neck with Arkansas back when they were regularly winning national championships.
Where is Adams State?
Google bro.

Check the results from their home meet the other week. Their top 5 average was low 26's at 7,500ft altitude. Coming down from that elevation has serious effects on your body, especially if it's even a tiny bit humid, given that valley has 0 humidity.
I had the privilege of training out there a few years back and when I came back down to sea level, I had some shit races because my body wasn't used to the change in elevation.
Give the youngins some time.
Franklin Pierce is going to steamroll all of them
My guess is that Adams state didn't run poorly but that it was because that xc course is extremely slow. Times didn't look fast there from anyone. Looked to be like 1-2mins slower for 8K than what each runner would usually run
When you come down from 7500' the lungs are ready, but the muscles have not been subjected to those speeds. If this race was held again two weeks later they would likely make the biggest jump in performance of all the teams.
