I am an 800 runner and just started college at a school with D1 teams. I have no impressive times to show right now as I was injured from sophomore through senior year, which is why I haven't yet contacted a coach with this question.
I've been training the entire summer and in the best shape of my life; if I continued to train through the winter and ran in an all-comer meet to have "official" race times, where would I need to be to even be considered as an unrecruited walk on? Would being at 1:57 with potential to improve even get me considered?
I'm just trying to gauge how achievable this is from where I am. Like I said I was injured throughout HS but still managed an 800 in 2:00 more than once off of ~15-20mpw and could easily hit 2:00 now
Apologize for the rant like post, thanks for any help
