Anyone had any success in switching to Hokas for a bit to relief Plantar Fasciitis?
Had a limited success with lower drop shoes walking around and was wondering if the extra cushion helps anyone out?

I'd recommend any Mizuno trainer for Plantar Fasciitis relief. Mizunos have been scientifically proven to provide Plantar Fasciitis relief. Additionally, once you have relief Mizunos will prevent the condition from returning. That is something Hoka cannot claim.

Michael, A LOT of runners on here would be curious to hear you expound on your "claim". Thanks in advance…..
Yes , please elaborate..i've never heard this but if it's true then i'm sold.

I'd recommend any Nike trainer for Plantar Fasciitis relief. Nikes have been scientifically proven to provide Plantar Fasciitis relief. Additionally, once you have relief Nikes will prevent the condition from returning. That is something Mizuno cannot claim.

The only thing that helped me was extra arch support - I have custom inserts for when I have a flare up of PF, but usually just a pair of Super Feet help immensely.
Stiff, overly cushioned shoes made my PF worse! Each case is different though, and you have to figure it out for yourself what helps. I sure wouldn't want to spend $170 on something, only to find out they made the PF worse.
Mizuno racing flats didn't help either- it was like the wave plate felt like it was crooked/dug into my heel.
Personally, more flexible, firmer running shoes helped, while walking in Birks.
I'd mostly been running in Mizuno Wave Riders when I came down with PF and lost most of the next year to it. I'm not saying Mizuno caused my PF but switching to a much more flexible sole (Nike Free, Skecher GoRun, etc) got me back to running and I've had no recurrence since switching. PF isn't the same for everyone - it likely has different causes and therefore solutions for different people - but that was my experience.

Pretty lame to make such a claim without citing any research studies and then run off.
I used a pair of Hokas for walking while going through PF. I had a pretty bad case and wasn't running, but it made daily activities more tolerable.
Yes, I had perfect success doing just this. Do it. I had one cortisone shot in my foot, got orthotics, and rested and stretched for 4 months with no running. Then I started back with Brooks Adrenaline, my regular shoe, then switched to Hokas mainly out of curiousity. (Running Warehouse has deals where you buy 2 pair for basically half price, the best deal you'll find). I can't recommend Hokas enough for dealing with PF, in fact they should hand everyone a pair on their 40th birthday.
I have battled PF for decades. I have had great success with my hokas. I have also previously had success with mizunos. I like my hokas better.
lol @ the clowns taking the Michael Fouts troll seriously
that troll has been posting random shit about Mizunos in many threads
Sorry for the delayed response, I've had a really busy day. Here is a link to the most recent study demonstrating the success of our shoes overcoming plantar faciitis injuries:
You won't find Hoka providing similar evidence.

Although this is a troll, after googling Mike Fout, turns out that he actually is a Territory Manager for Mizuno and based out of DC. Multiple time all-american in college as well. Not quite sure why someone would have the incentive to pose as him on these forums, but all its doing is making Fout look really bad. Poor guy probably has no idea anybody's posting on these forums as him

Someone hijacked my name to post that last message with the video. I didn't register it which allowed someone to do that.
