PM- 10.05 mile long run****
Total: 52.25 miles
3xMile*- Splits: 5:33, 5:33, and 5:34 w/ about 4 minutes of rest, and 400m of jogging inside that 4 minute period.
-Felt terrible, this was the day after a long run, and I was also still very sick. Coach told me not to run a 4th, because I had a meet Wednesday (Even though we didn't care about how I did at the meet), and because I was sick.
3 mile race**- Time: 17:08.8, Splits: 5:26, 5:49, 5:53. Placed 2nd, the winner ran an impressive 15:59.
-Felt terrible, my legs were trashed from the previous Sunday, and from Monday. My legs were already dead at the 1 mile mark, which is when I knew things were about to go downhill. The course wasn't fast by any means either. I'm somewhat happy with it though because I was still getting over sickness, I had a quality 2 days before, and a long run 3 days before. But, I know I could have ran a ton faster if I was fresh. Looking forward to my next meet.
1.5 mile fartlek*** 100m on, 100m off. Total time: 8:41, Pace: 5:45. (On- 21 seconds, Off- 23 seconds)
-Felt really good, I know if I would have kepy on going I would have been able to break my time from Wednesday, and the effort wasn't even hard. This just goes to show I wasn't anywhere close to where I could have been on Wednesday.
10.05 mile long run**** Total time: 1:03:09, Pace: 7:17. Had 2 longer surges (.46 miles, and .51 miles), planned on running them at 6:20 pace but my paces were (6:18, and 6:15). I then ran for about 3 more miles, then ran 3 shorter surges (1 minute) and the paces were (6:02, 6:15, and 6:15).
-Felt alright, my legs were a bit stiff, but not heavy. I planned on running 5 of the longer surges, but I didn't know that the loop I was gonna run on had such bad footing (Loose rock, w/ random rocks sticking up), and I didn't think it was gonna be as hot or humid as it was, so I split it up.
Overall, I have mixed feeling w/ how this week went, considering I wasn't as high in mileage as I wanted to be. Also, I am not happy w/ how inconsistent and all over the place my runs were, but the reason being was I was a bit behind on sleep and I didn't want to cut my sleep short and run in the mornings before school. This week, I will make sure my plan is a lot more concrete and less all random/all over the place.
Sorry for the late post again, but I think this is when I'll probably be posting from here on out. Also, my school does these things in PE called PACER's, which basically are 20m for 1 "lap", my best ever is 157 laps, and the school record is 161, I plan on breaking that this Tuesday, and also, my next cross country meet is this coming Saturday, and it is my biggest invitational of the year.
Excited to see how your weeks went.
