You may be on to something here. The only problem with a link between distance running success and living in Ohio is that it would require you to live in Ohio (a.k.a. Whitetrashistan) at some point....that would suck.
I willing to bet the average IQ in Ohio is significantly below than the national average.
Which would make it similar to Iten.

Haha it's not that bad.
Columbus isn't that bad. There are several malls.

Umm, have you ever heard anyone saying, "I really want to move to Ohio!"? Of course you haven't. Columbus is an okay town, only because of the university, but the rest of the state is just about as bad as Indiana - and that's saying something.
I've known Emily for years and she's never mentioned Ohio. Must be embarrassed about Ohio, just like everyone that is from there.

Considering the OP is bragging about Ohio and can't spell Infeld's name correctly, or the word "proves", is an indication that you are on to something.

the last piece of the puzzle is that you gotta get out of ohio to have some success
Might as well face it folks. OHIO is currentlly the number one symbol of American Exceptionalism. The greateset state in the greatest nation in the world.
At least we don't have to worry about our houses being swallowed up by the ocean if that global warming hoax actually turns out to be true. Of course we were at sea level at one time. Now we are a comfortable 1100 ft above.
I went to college in western pa (basically a dirty extension of Ohio, except for Pittsburgh) and I got chills down my spine every time I was forced to peer westward. All my classmates from Ohio played on our 2-10 football team and wore camo hats.

Maybe it's my state pride but I disagree. It's one of the better states. Definitely the best in the midwest (unless you count Colorado. I'll give you that). Most states have one or 2 big cities and that's it. The rest of the state is nothing. Illinois only has Chicago and Springfield. And people only care about Springfield because it's the capital. Maryland only has Baltimore. Utah only has SLC. etc...
Besides the southeast part of the state there's cities and towns everywhere. Ohio is not one big cornfield like everyone thinks. Cincinnati is beautiful, Dayton and Cleveland have a lot of history, we have two of the biggest universities in the country, a great lake, etc...
We did invent the airplane so we wouldn't have to listen to all you ocean lovers badmouth us as you were driving through.
Regarding the development of HS talent, I would put Michigan far ahead of Ohio regarding home gown HS talent....but not WC or Olympic medals Ohio wins in that category....

Hey wait a minute, this isn't California, we have less population, the crappiest weather fall-winter-spring. Year after year we produce dozens of kids that place high nationally.
Michigan is superior to Ohio in HS Distance Running. I attended both 2015 Ohio and Michigan HS State meets. The weather was so different, Michigan was cold ran, wind, Ohio was a furnace.
Beyond the Boys 3200m (state record) and Girls 800m (more girls running sub 2:10) Michigan has far more depth annually, faster times, and more nationally ranked Junior Distance talent.
Oh...and Both Belf and Dadamio (from the same HS) beat Ohio's top girl's athlete Heperen in the 1600m and 3200m

Man...people ripping on Ohio don't really know what they are talking about. Yes, it's not that exciting (no HUGE cities like NYC, and no ocean or mountains), and yes the winters are bad without the extra added benefit of having cool summers (because it still gets hot and humid here), but it is a pretty good place to raise a family.
1) Ohio has a VERY educated populous. There are truckloads of colleges here, and graduates often stay close when they are done.
2) Cost of living is relatively low, and yet salaries aren't necessarily low too.
3) Great public education here. Some bad schools too of course, but you do NOT have to send your kid to private school to get a great education.
4) If we want to talk about HS distance running, it's pretty good here currently. Better than when I was in high school here. Big participation and some big talent here.
All that said, I will not retire in Ohio...I don't like winter weather, and overall, in addition to it being too cold in winter, it's not sunny enough for my liking. So, I will head south in 11-13 years (unless of course there's an extenuating circumstance).
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
