Looks like the clock at 800m out was at 1:44.?? for Kiprop, finished in 3:34, so a 1:50.?? last 800 for him. Farah went 1:48.?? in the 5k
Well that's just ridiculous.

both won, who cares?
You might not wanna mention that to Kiprop - it will lessen the chance he'll move up to the 5000 after winning in Rio...
Farah also ran his last 1400 of the 5000 in 3:22
Kiprop ran the final 1400 of the 1500 in 3:20
Farah could have ran a 3500m warmup (at 4:40 pace) around the track and then jumped into the start of the 1500m and potentially medal.
All about speed over the final 2 laps in championship racing.
and Bolt closed faster than both of them. So I guess that would make him the 1500/5000 gold medalist. Apples with apples, people.
Didn't Kiprop actual increase his lead on Mo chasing in the pack back in Monaco? And in that same race, wasn't Mo out kicked by both Makhloufi and Iguider who, today, had Elijah Manangoi blow past them like they were marking time?
Bad comparisson my friend.
4 minute mile pace during 700m makes you more vulnerable than 4:40 pace for 10,5 laps and then going for a fast 800m.
That's why 10000m/5000m championship finals typically have a faster last lap than a 800m Diamond League paced one, because they (5/10) are still in aerobic mode at the bell.
And you certainly don't believe that Farah beats Rudisha in a 800m do you?

This.
The OP clearly knows nothing about track.
The final 400 of a championship 5/10 is ALMOST ALWAYS faster than a 1500.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
