Ouch. Try 4 x 2000m at 10k pace with 3 minutes recovery.
That's a very easy workout. A hard effort should be about 8 seconds faster per km from you 10km pace so 16-20 seconds faster per repeat.

For you, perhaps. This is a 10k workout that can be done regularly.

True dat. When I do marathon race workouts I make sure I do at least 42k of work.
I wanted 5 but couldn't or didn't do that last one; left some fuel in the tank.
I probably took too short of recovery. I was curious if 8k with short recovery was still 10k workout.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
