Hey guys so I was just finishing my base phase (August) and about to start hill work (aiming for a mid November 5k) when I got an injury due to a muscle imbalance. Anyways my plan was 6 weeks of hills then 6 weeks mainly focused on track work, then try to bring a peak. But now I'll be injured and can't really start running until about October 1 (6 weeks out from 5k). How should I go about the 6 weeks of training? Over summer I built a decent base for me (40 mpw with a 10m long run, a 20-25 min tempo, and 1k repeats building up to a little slower thank 5k pace). Will that all be gone after 6 weeks out with injury ( doing pool runs and biking)? I was self coached for this mostly, so any input would be great! (The muscle imbalance was pretty much something that has been developing since before I started running)
