A few days back I ran repeat 800s on the 5k course we will be racing on. I run around 40 mpw and the workout was 7 by 800m and i ran them averaging 2:43s. Is it possible that I'm in sub 17 shape? Thanks

Rest was 2 minutes by the way
Based on what data you've given, I'd say definitely low 17's but I wouldn't safely say sub 17.

2:43 and that 120s rest is around:
19:30
I'd say lower if less rest. Why not try 6x800 with 75s rest next?
