The Oceans are gone. The world as it existed in 1988 ended in 1999. We then switched to a matrix type existence. You are living in a cocoon drinking your neighbors urine.
I remember Sally Struthers saying you could feed a child for only 30 cents a day. THAT didn't help much.

What does that have to do with anything? It is still true today. It also has nothing to do with what the OP was talking about.

From where did Danson get his climatology degree?

A little too early to conclude he was wrong. Stick around for another 50 years, 100 years and then we can see.

And where did you learn sentence structure?
Ted at his finest .
Sam Malone is right. The tipping point to the demise of the oceans was in that ten year period.
He didn't mean the oceans would be dead in 10 years.
The oceans are gone, ever heard of the Cod Fisheries at the Grand Banks? Etc. Most the fish is farmed now, most of the Salmon you buy is farmed. Just because we still have a huge body of water does not mean it is productive. But, yet again you are a typical LRC poster (means you are a 13-year-old [Mentally]).

Guess what (filtered by lr), Danson was probably right. The change in PH is probably irreparable, and if you were actually plugged into what's going on with some of the big fisheries you would realize how wrong - in a real tangible way - you are.
Do I need to put this in terms of capitalism for you to understand? Or do you get it now?
The oceans are screwed. I see constant anecdotal evidence of this whether it is the presence of new invasive species crossing into new territories owing to warming, things like great whites showing up further and further north, massive algae and phytoplankton blooms, previously unseen jellyfish blooms, wild cycles of population explosion of marine life that are feeding on this stuff. That's more of an evolutionary response to changes that are happening, but as someone raised on the North Atlantic ocean it just seems out of control. The scary stuff is the collapse of coral reefs and significant fish habitats in the tropics where the damage is going to have significant long term consequences.
Right now there is Sargassum seaweed choking the Caribbean, two years ago the same beaches in Barbados were an inch deep in jellyfish.
You must have been very attentive to Ted Danson. Curious, have you been as attentive to, and remember as well, all the things that Rush Limbaugh has predicted.Maybe liberal actors are more credible to you than conservative pundits and that's why you are so shocked.

I don't remember anything that Ted Danson ever said about anything.
Gotta give a pass to climate folks for a while on these predictions. They have a long way to go to catch up to the bible thumping conservatives who have predicted the second coming. As of this moment they have been wrong every time. Batting 0 for about 1,000,000 on the predictions.
I always liked Mr. Danson but lost complete respect for the man when he, along with the rest of the Cheers cast, went on the Leno Show drunk.
That was a no class thing to do to Mr. Leno.
Becker was pretty good though.
.
That was the same year Reagan said the peace plan ending several conflicts in Central America would never work and asked for $35 million to blow the Sandanistas out of power.
2 years later the Sadanistas stepped down after a peaceful general election.
