Wilson gets $87 million over four years, now one of the highest paid players in the league.
Pretty good for a kid who's too short to play QB in the NFL.

My body is ready.
How much of that is guaranteed?
$60 million, I think.
He's short, yes.
But he's fast, and an accurate passer, and he's football smart.
Not a single QB in the NFC west even close.

It'll be interesting to see how the Seahawks do now. They had the luxury of having a cheap and good QB. This opened up a lot of money they were able to use on defense. This won't be the case going forward.

No such thing. So tired of people (espn) trying to make these idiots out to be some kind of genius. Give me a break, despite what ESPN says, football is not that complicated of a game. And the NFL is even less complicated.
The old gunslinger was not far removed from a Southern White Male stereotype. He is in the conversation for the greatest player at his position. How smart do you have to be?

Football is inherently tactical. Why did the most prolific offense of all time get held to one score two Superbowls ago, when the same defense got lit up for 28 by a weaker offense one year later? A team that can create plays not through greater athleticism but through more potent tactics can create gaps in a superior defense. That takes precision timing, prediction, quick cognitive processing, and physical follow through. How is a close understanding of the more cerebral elements of the game not constituting a construct of "football smarts" to you?
At first I thought he was a greedy Republican.
Then I heard him say that it wasn't about the $$$$ but was about the love of football.
I am okay with that.

After the Ravens won the Super Bowl, Flacco got a huge contract and then led his team to an 8-8 record the next season. They did pretty well last season though, winning a game in the playoffs before losing a close one to the eventual champs.
Did he praise God for the money?
