Go to a store and try them on.
Depends on what you're looking for in a shoe. Both are great but they are different. Pegasus is lighter and more responsive while the vomero is soft and plush. Some people prefer high cushion shoes while others prefer responsive shoes. If you have been running for a while you probably know what you like. Try them on see what you think and let us know.
wow thanks for the great contributions /sarcasm
any actual feedback?
I tried the pegs at the local store and they felt pretty good. Like the 31's, perhaps with a slightly more flexible forefoot.
The new upper is GREAT and I really like it compared to the 31's upper.
They didn't have the Vomero 10s in my size to try though. I was checking out other sizes in hand and it's a pretty hefty shoe. I wanna try one on and see if it really is like the peg 29's of old.
Anyone else?
Fifty miles plus in the Pegasus 32 and they have become my favorite trainer. I bought the 31 a year or so ago and I never liked them. Forefoot was too soft and the midsole felt like it rolled laterally. May be wrong but it feels like the forefoot is firmer, making for a more responsive package. The upper is fantastic. Very comfortable.
The Vomero reminds me of the Pegasus 29/30. Not much road feel. Very protective but good response. The upper is likewise very comfortable. Good for recovery runs. I like both and prefer the Pegasus.
The Vomero 10 seemed too beefy for me, and I went with the Peg 32.
I loved the Peg 29, I think the Vomero 10 is cushier & clunkier.
I'm absolutely loving the Peg 32s, especially for longer endurance and long runs.
Contrary to popular views, I actually like the Vomero 10s more. I run collegiately for a school that is not sponsored by Nike, but in high school I trained in Vomeros and loved them. I tried the Pegasus out for a few runs, and kept wanting to like them, but they couldn't ever respond back the way the Vomeros did for me. Every runner is different, especially their feet. I enjoyed the wider toe-box on the Vomero and I felt like I had more push off and that I could midfoot strike easier in them compared to the Pegasus. Although the Pegasus is slated as the lighter, more responsive shoe, for me the Vomero always felt lighter and more fast of a shoe.
I have both and like the Pegasus more. Just feels lighter, fits more naturally to my foot, more responsive. Like someone else mentioned, the Vomero felt a bit too much shoe and to me, more firm. Maybe I'm just used to the Pegasus (have worn 10 years) but definitely choose those for most of my runs. And I don't think the Vomero feels like the older peg version.
I agree with the wider toe box. I use both shoes since the 28s/7s. I use the Pegasus for short runs and the vomeros for the long runs. I'm a creature of habit so I always run in vomeros for marathons. I could probably wear the Pegasus since I can't really feel my feet after 4 hours anyways...
Just an observation, I see a lot more vomeros than Pegasus in the races.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
