I've been toying with the idea of keeping building mileage as I've planned up to a peak of 80, but without running 7 days a week. Still doing doubles when needed, one day with a long run and no other runs, but taking one day completely off from running. It seems like it'd make mileage goals more achievable by letting myself take off the day I feel the worst, or when it feels like a slight injury might be coming on. When I used to run 7 days a week for a few weeks at a time, I'd feel those slight tweaks and try to run through them; sometimes I'd come out alright and others I'd end up taking a few days to a week off because I tried to push through. Other than putting in more miles on the other 6 days, are there any reasons not to do this?
