He's been looking really strong this year. According to the seeds, it looks like he might actually be in the mix for the NCAA's 5k this year. What do you guys think?

Great runner. Great coach behind him. This might not be the year but I wouldn't be too surprised.
Awad may well be the filthiest dude on that starting line in Jacksonville. The dude is impossible to drop.
I've heard Tommy Awad has been exclusively drinking beet juice since matriculating into Coach Dolan's program. Seems to be working quite well for the young Quaker.
Love my bro Tom Awad. Thanks so much for being my #Penntakeoverbro for me. He's like my twin, but faster of course!
Is it true that Awad runs mad volume? It may be a good explanation for his nasty range and ability to kick at any distance. That last lap at the Heps 3 3/4 lap race was pure fire to get that position number one,
He closed the last 400m in 51.2 in the 1500 at HEPs. Granted it was a slow pace, but damn. The dude can't lose. I would like to see him choast at Regionals and save his big boy finishing speed for dethroning that cocky Duck who only loses on purpose at NCAAs.
-Awad WILL go with ANY pace at NCAAs
-Awad will NOT be dropped at ANY pace at NCAAs
-With the power of Nitric Oxide (beet juice, which he has been drinking exclusively) he will outkick anyone at NCAAs

I think that Awad is about to put the Ivy League back on the track and field map. He is going to be the long awaited male version of Abbey D'Agostino.
On a different note, I can't wait to see what this guy does in the future. With his style, exotic (but ferociously tantalizing good looks), and nearly effortless running form women and shoe companies will be all over him. He's the most marketable runner in the NCAA right now, and probably one of the best looking as well.
Saw him light up Mike Rutt live last year at Penn, he has only improved since then. Should be fun to watch him take a shot at Sapienza's Ivy 5k record this next year as he becomes the face of Ivy distance running.
No, Eric Jenkins and Edward Cheserek will both annihilate him at any pace. Also, both are more marketable, and at least Jenkins is more handsome, even if he looks like Count Chocula.

What??
I'm honestly pretty surprised he's done as well as he has living at the infamous Wallingford. I heard that place is a haven for riff raff and burnouts. Maybe they turned around the toxic culture, who knows!

D'Ags only graduated last year, it's not like there was that big of a void...
But as for Awad, he seems to have 100% faith in Dolan's plans for him. Whenever I've talked to him or heard him in other interviews on the topic of what he plans to do, he always seems to shrug and say "I'll do what coach says". It makes me wonder if he'll even stray away from Philly when he graduates in 2016.
I meant a male presence similar to Abbey's. Obviously there's Merber, Geoghegan, Gregory, and Korolev... But the Ivy League needs a guy like Awad to restore Sapienza-like dominancy to the League.

Holy crap. Jenkins does look like dracula.
Well, if Flotrack predictions come true then the Ivy League is going to have a very solid showing at NCAAs this year on the men's side.
Rob Napolitano of Columbia in the 1500 - if the pace is good, I think Rob has a really good chance of advancing. He didn't kick well at Heps off a very slow pace, but when the pace is honest there are few guys who can accelerate like he can. In fact, I once saw Rob run 2x3000 (3:00) in 9:00, then, after taking a full break, through down 5 consecutive 200s in under 25s with a 3:00 jog in between. The speed is there and the guy is built just like Guerrouj.
Awad in the 5k - not going to elaborate, seeing as it is the topic of this thread.
Purnell in the 5k - I would personally be pretty impressed if Purnell got through the rounds, but would be happy for him nonetheless. The time is now if he is going to do something special.
Matt MacDonald in the 10k - Heps champ over Curtis King of Dartmouth (entered in the 5000), closing in 56.5 to run 29:49. He showed incredible patience in that race, working his way up through the pack throughout and then unleashing a deadly kick that King was unable to respond to as they rounded onto the finishing stretch. He is poised to make a great run at the 10k.

Purnell did make it to NCAAs last year as the final at-large qualifier, but some people think the way he qualified was a bit of a low blow done by the Harvard coach... it would be great if Purnell makes it to the finals by a non-controversial method this year.

Wonder what tricks Saretsky has up his sleeve this year to sneak Purnell into a race that he will inevitably finish close to last in.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
