Is the Dad Bod thing a satire or do women prefer guys like that?

Runners will love this since many of them are SKINNY FAT = thin arms and legs but a belly.
Death before DadBod!
Women subconsciously want a man like their dad.
The dad bod thing has been over-exaggerated. I think the original dad bod archetype was Don Draper, right? Since the term came out, it quickly devolved into any fat guy. Names like Seth Rogen and the like were thrown around.
If you read some of the earlier articles on the dad bod, it is mostly guys who work out, but aren't chiseled and narcissistic. I think the original description was a guy who exercises, plays sports and cares about his health, but isn't worried about having beers and burgers on the weekend.
But here is the Urban Dictionary definition:
"A body resembling a man who lives a sedentary lifestyle, flabby, usually comes with a keg gut. Sometimes can see penis, most of the time cannot. Body resembles his personality; dull, lifeless, and very conservative."
That is not how this thing started. I am thinking the Internet has a part to play in the definition being blatantly distorted.
I think the origination of the dad bod craze was a very natural reaction to these XFIT guys.
No woman prefers a dad bod unless she has a mom bod
I can see the author's reasoning, but there are several problems with the concept and results. I'd guess this young woman isn't projecting what a man's college-aged man's physique, if already a "dad bod," will look like when older and more sedentary.
I'd also also that this woman would discard this attitude when realizing a higher proportion of men with higher educations and incomes tending to be leaner and fitter (and who have more time, smarts, AND money to realize the benefits of a better body [e.g. Richard Branson]).
And I'm just sick of the having outlookss being so polarizing/binary... dad bod vs. health-freak bod, with nothing in between and no nuance in attitudes toward what a healthy body will bring you.
I'll take the ability to stay active, outlive my dad (who died at age 52), and be mistaken for someone 15 years younger over approval of insecure women who prefer someone in as bad or worse shape than them.
Apologies for typo @ start of second paragraph; should be "I'd also imagine...."
Let's see, Magic Mike 2 is coming out next month...so...I'm calling BS on the whole Dad Bod "craze."
People have attractions for different things. I enjoy looking at a perfect male body but he first thing that comes to mind is narcissist. My partner has a dad bod and I love it. It doesn't mean fat and it doesn't mean sedentary. It means he looks like he works out but carries a fee extra pounds. I much prefer the look and feel of some extra padding over some good muscle as opposed to thin. I think most women feel the same way.
