If anyone could give me some advice for taking my 800 meter to the next level I would appreciate it.
My junior season just ended, as I did not make the Pennsylvania state meet. My PR in the 8 this year was run at the District One championship and was a 1:58.06. I really wanted to get sub 1:58, but considering my PR my sophomore year was a 2:05, I'll take it. This year was my first year of running for three seasons (XC, Indoor, and Outdoor) and I felt like the time I put into training really showed. My question is how to take my 8 to the next level. I really want to get to sub 1:55 next year or if possible even better. I have cut off good chunks of time every year since I started track in the 4th grade and I see no reason why I can't get down that low. Unfortunately for me, the coaches at my school admitedly do not know how to coach an 800 meter running very well at all, and I am essentially the mid distance coach for my school lol. I was wondering if you guys had any workouts or even a schedule for what I should do at what time of the year I would appreciate it.
Thanks
