What fight were you watching? Pacman maybe won three rounds.
Neither of them landed much of anything. Tie goes to the aggressor.
Made track look like an action movie. Boxing is dead.

That's not how boxing is scored. But please enlighten me on which rounds Pacman through more (even though he missed over 80% of his punches) than Mayweather.
Pacquiao: "I thought I won the fight. He didn't do nothing."
sums it up perfectly. Mayweather backpedaled, dodged, clinched and held repeatedly. No offense at all. To win by boxing skills it can't just be all defensive. Total robbery.
More likely fix. Mayweather was playing straight heel the whole way through, this will generate huge interest in a rematch.
The only way this was ever not going to be debated forever was if one of them got a KO and that was extremely unlikely. On technical points Mayweather won, on entertainment and overall showing in the ring Pac won.
That fight would be like El G winning the 2004 1500m, but bernard lagat not being there after beating him in Zurich.. sure he won but everyone will always debate it.

Except Bernard was there... He got silver. Do you not remember them both closing in something like 1:47 last 800m?? Hard to forget if you ever saw it.

Man, I though world cup soccer was bad. Boxing takes fixed to a whole new level. What do you expect from an even that takes place in Las Vegas.

... no shit he was there. Which made it definitive A LA a KO in this fight. But without a KO its like athens without Lagat... its called an analogy.. i know its late but cmon

Yes, it is. Effective aggression.
https://suite.io/bill-scherer/xjv2q2even blows that are not landed particularly clean, but obviously affect his opponent, are given scoring weight.
Mayweather was kept off balance by Pacquiao's attack in all but the 5th and 11th. That's effective. Mayweather landed no more total clean blows than Pacquiao and certainly threw far less, as Pacquiao started the vast majority of exchanges and threw flurries while Mayweather threw halfass jabs and ineffective counters.
By the same token, Pacquiao clearly was the ring general, in control of the fight, the man in the center. Mayweather the guy dodging around from rope to rope.
That's half the scoring right there. Even if you give Floyd a pass for landing a higher % of his fewer punches, he has no clear advantage in the punching department and achieved a tie at best. Give him the defense category, but Pacquiao dominated the rest.
Horrible that people think this is good boxing. Two 40 yr olds, one just bouncing around avoiding conflict, the other lacking the snap of his youth that may have been able to get to him.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
