I can't tell you how many titles I've seen like this one all over the web these past few years. I unfortunately fell victim to the mass "biohacking" propaganda in 2014, particularly following Tim Ferriss and Dave Asprey. The short version: it didn't work, especially for running.
The long(er) version: I was a track and XC runner in high school. I worked my ass off but I never had any talent (by my senior year I was running 5:03 in the mile and 18:20 for a 5k). After I graduated I was mentally burned out from running, as I really did dedicate my life to it for those four years. So I gradually drifted away from running. By the time I was 20, I had stopped running entirely.
For the next five years or so I kept in decent shape, basically just enough to not get fat, but I probably ran a total of 5 or 6 times in those years. But then I found the whole "biohacking" movement, bought into all the propaganda, and felt invincible.
