He keeps running crazily fast times and looking smooth doing so.

I think Lashawn Merritt will have something to say about that.
And the fastest runner right now is still Gatlin from last year until or unless Bolt proves otherwise, and you already have Kiryu and de Grasse (from USC last week) having run wind-aided 8.87s this year.
That's wind-aided 9.87s last week.
A wind aided 9.87 isn't as good as 44.31 is it?
de Grasse ran with +4.0 at Mt. Sac which is 9.94-9.95 wind adjusted, and that makes them even. Kiryu ran with +3.3 at Texas Relays, which makes his maybe .02 faster. Gatlin, Gay, and Bailey go up against Bolt in Bahamas next weekend, and it is going to take a pretty quick anchor to win.
Also, USC had TWO people running sub-10 and Mt. Sac, and Bromell isn't going to give up easily (two of those 3 ran the #5 and #7 times ever run for 200 indoors in NCAAs). There is going to be some serious smoke in the NCAA 100m final.
44.31 is about 9.82 with nil wind
