Great finish. WIlliamsz came up on the inside to the lead with about 250 to go. Ches came after him but Williamsz did a great job of making him work for it. There was definitely a bump with about 130 to go. Ches was flailing his arms as he's prone to do and WIliams kind of stuck his arm out to make it hard for King Ches.
Ches was workign hard over the final 100. Looking over his shoulder to make sure Williamsz wasn't coming back on him. I definitely think if they were both even at the start it would be a good fight. Ches was digging deep.
"It was really tough. I tried to take it easy today" as I have to come back to tomorrow said Ches.

Not the fastest 400 splits ever that is for sure. Lots of 48's and 49's! 1200 was pretty tactical also. Def about the race not the time in this one
Stepped out of lab to catch that one. Felt bad for the Columbia guy; he was a sacrificial lamb leading the mile in that wind all the way to the last 200 or so. Great work by Williamsz to make Ches earn it, but to me it never really looked in doubt - they both dropped everyone else on the turn, and then coming into the home stretch Cheserek just stepped into an extra gear and got a gap, and Williamsz couldn't answer.
It kinda reminded me of a lot of pro cycling finishes - attack from behind so you're in high gear before the other guy can react. Great finish to an otherwise boring race (except for the tumble at the exchange).

When will we start adding time to all these PBs run in absolutely ideal conditions in California. Welcome to the East. Penn relays has rain wind cold and it's perfect. Pay more attention to the races in the East instead of time trials out west.
someone out there must hate our sport.
I decided to follow the link in the LRC preview and sign up to watch tonight's 800m.
10 bucks, bit steep for around two minutes of running, but well, I can also rewind and watch (for instance) the DMR and also there's the men's 1500 (mile?) to come. So I sign up on my iPad and spend the 10 dollars.
Finding where on the site to click to watch the stream was a pain but I found it in the end.
Turns out... it can't play on an iPad. Would have liked them to warn me about that before I paid, especially as I did it on the iPad.
Well I switch on the computer and try to watch it. It just keeps trying to load, nothing happens.
I close all windows and try again. This time I get two guys chatting away but no pic. I then get a picture of the two guys chatting.
Then it all dies as there's a break at the track. Fair enough. So I'll watch the DMR in the meantime.
Only to find out I can't. Jesus Christ. The memories of the days when I had a Flotrack subscription come flooding back. The warm, fuzzy feeling of having been conned out of my money by someone who just doesn't get what they're selling me.
When the stream comes back on after the break I am going to again get reminded how terrible track is on TV. About 150m into the big race (the women's 800) they'll probably cut to some mediocre long jumper or pole vaulter, showing rerun after rerun of her facial expressions after a failed attempt.
I'll bookmark this page and the next time I am close to spending money on watching track on TV I am going to read this post and tell myself "Put that money towards traveling to a meet and watch it live, the only way you'll ever enjoy it"
Thanks for allowing me the space on the internet to have this reminder for myself of how terrible an allround experience this was.
Annie LeBlanc just ran down Natoya Goule from behind on the anchor leg of the distance medley relay and got her right at the finish. Fun stuff.
Didn't even get to watch the race as they messed up the stream! Ffs! I'll try to reclaim my money as I took pics and videos of the shambles
Dude, I have watched two days on 5 year old iPad mini without any problems.
You might need to hire some tech support

The only tech support needed (on my part!) would be moving my post to the Drake thread as that's where it was supposed to go :-)
Who is Oregon running on the 4 by mile? One would think Oregon has 8-9 guys who can run sub 4 on any given day and will break 16 flat?????? GO DUCKS Also if Ches runs I think Oregon can break the college record in the 4 by mile.

Jesse - is that you? We should give you a letsrun.com login.
You made a rare mistake. I think you meant to say SMR relay.

Of course they don't the first two legs.
I incorrectlyi asumed that the 4 x mile would start on time and be on national tv. No, it started earl and is only on flotrck. We'll now it's on tv as well.
My old boyis at Cornell in 2nd at 2 legs in 8:03.
It's not tooo windy. Weather.com says only 8 mph.
I guess I can kiss my school record good bye. Cornell ran it the way I would have - best to worse. I totaly m issed the first leg.
Ches and Williamsz are anchoring for Oregon and Nova. It's two team race with 4oo to go on leg #3.
if I'm Williamsz I'd do ZERO WORK. Zero. make it as slow as possible.
12:03
Cheserek is jogging
Williamz right behinf him
Ches needs sub 3:57 for the sub 16, but it's a slow first lap, and he lets three more teams join the race.
