For the last month I've had a bad cough. It went away but then came back, then I got pretty sick so I went to the doctor and got diagnosed with influenza type b. After about week I felt better but my cough was still there. So I went back to the doctor and they said I had some sinus thing so they gave me some anti biotic and an inhaler because throat/lungs were messed up from coughing.
I've been taking the antibiotics for a week and I can tell my cough doesn't have the same mucus as before now but now it's different. I cough less but when i do it feels like my throat is closing and it hard to inhale. This also happens but a lot worse when sneeze. This is also affecting my running. When I go out on runs with in the first five minutes I have a coughing fit where my throat spasms a little. Also in my last race in the first 600 I felt fine but then my throat starting closing and by 800 I couldn't breathe and dropped. I thought it was just cause I was still recovering from my sickness, but in my last workout I felt fine until the last interlaced when the same throat thing happened.
I've been researching what's happened to me and I think it's vocal cord dysfunction (vcd). Can anyone give me some advice about, and tips on how to manage it.
