Congratulations! You got your wish.
Next up - we shouldn't negotiate with Iran until they destroy all their nuclear weapons.

Sounds good as long as there is no more federal regulation either. If USPS decides they don't want to keep open a post office is some money losing town, lets let them.
I have no problem paying Fedex $7 to post a letter.
Where you been, Jack? Check the USPS.com site. You'll see that the Post Office hasn't been funded by the US Gov't in more years that you've probably been alive. To the other poster who'll spend $7 for Fed-Ex...it costs .49 to send a letter from Alaska to Florida. Once it gets to FL it may need forwarding to Maine since the addressee moved. If the address in Maine is wrong because the addressee left a digit off, the letter goes back to AK. That's 15k miles for a friggin' .49! Will Fed-Ex do that? Yeah...think about it.
Its also time for the nation and all states to defund, disassemble and close every university and college in the country. Its a massive joke now. All tests, quizzes & papers etc are done over YOUR computer. So now students have started businesses where they take all tests and quizzes and write all papers for all students. I'm at the mall with my senior son attending state University. A young guy walks up to us and says hey could you take this quiz for me. Hands my son his phone! Kid attends a different University! My kid piddles with the phone five minutes done. Hands back to kid. I go ballistic! What did you just do! He says hey its all a joke now..everything! No one does NOT do it this way. Throw in new special programs for affirmative action students who can't get thru usual programs OF COURSE, and its all a laughing stock. ITS GETTING WORSE EVERY DAY!
USPS is NOT funded by the government and hasn't been for years (even though they have a monopolistic hold on mailboxes and PO boxes). They also are hemorrhaging millions of dollars per year.
Yes, it's definitely better to contract out the mail delivery to underpaid workers. That's how you avoid mail theft and obtain the best service.

Let's also close our borders, kick out ANYONE who cannot speak English, then let's go nuke all our enemies before the Persians get a Bomb and retaliate against the West for the activities of Alexander the Great.

no one does it better than the postal service. less than 50 cents to mail a letter 5,000 miles. their pension system needs funding from congress, however, because they have massive pension liabilities from many decades of retired workers, unlike the much younger private delivery services, some of which have gotten away with murder with their employees by calling them independent contractors (just struck down last year by a court, finally) and leaving them to the mercy of the state with no pension. We'll all have to save them when they're old. USPS isn't doing badly, but it does need that pension help, and maybe some ability to close rural post offices that congress keeps open.
When I'm done with the teachers' unions, I'm coming after the PO. You've been warned.
