Let me preface this letting you know I average 10:30/mi. I'm a novice running my 2nd marathon. I only started running again 6 months ago after about a year off and even then I only averaged 20mpw. Training was going well till I got injured 8wks ago, taking me out for 3 weeks. I've been building back up cautiously since then and I'm at avg 32mpw, 16mi long run. The way I see it is that I have 2 more weeks to build up before taper. Do you recommend I (1) do two more 16milers increasing midweek miles for 36mpw and 40mpw weekly mileage, (2) do a 16mi and 18mi long run keeping weekday miles similar both weeks, (3) do next two weeks exactly the same 2x16mi long runs for 36mpw, or (4) none of the above and include suggestion? I'm not expecting to PR or pull off a miracle. I just want to put forth a good genuine effort with my current level of fitness. Thanks for your help. Btw, I was using the HH novice 2 and switched to novice 1 post injury.
