I bought a pair of Brooks PureCadence with the intention of gradually changing my form from a heel to mid-foot strike (my previous two pairs were Asics GT-2000s). I also made this decision to alleviate symptoms from retrocalcaneal bursitis in my heels. That was a couple months ago.
Anyway, I've decided to abandon that plan, so I'm heel-striking in the PureCadences. Recently I've developed pain in my right knee (mostly on the left-hand side, surrounding the knee cap). I feel this pain while running and walking. I should also mention that I have just began running after a two month break.
My questions are:
Is this knee pain due to the shoes?
Is it bad that I'm heel striking in a shoe designed for mid-foot striking?
Thanks
