Nothing revolutionary here- pretty sure we can accept that Ryan has run his lifetime PR. What's baffling is that he's running so far off his PR right now, and he's not that old.

Nobody is expecting another 2:06 from Hall. But many of us are disappointed that even a 2:10 seems to be out of the question nowadays.

Ryun ran a marathon PR at age 20?

Nobody is expecting another 2:06 from Hall. But many of us are disappointed that even a 2:10 seems to be out of the question nowadays.

What part of "the guy is done" do you not understand. Lots of runners totally fall off a cliff performance wise once their peak is over.

I'm a total hobby jogger, but within 5 years of my marathon pr, I could no longer hold my marathon pr pace for a 5k.

I understand the phrase "the guy is done" perfectly well, but thank you for asking anyway. I am also very aware that Hall is 'done'.

Now, in the spirit of asking, what part of "you are an asshole" do you not understand?

Hobby joggers need not comment. Your life and livelihood don't revolve around running.

Being 10-13+ min off lifetime bests is more than "falling off a cliff".

That was my point...as a hobby jogger, I haven't put near the miles or wear on my body as an elite, but I STILL reached a point where my running went down the tubes. It should be expected that the fall off for an elite like Hall would be even more drastic.

The thing is, people wouldn't be ragging on Hall so much if he didn't keep making pronouncements about how fit he is, and how he hasn't reached his full potential yet, etc. If you listen to him talk, all you hear is "All is well. If anything, it's better than ever!"

So when he says what he says, and then runs what he runs, what do you expect people to say about his performances? He invites ridicule upon himself.

he's monumentally self-deluded and that is what gets people with a guy who does not seem to get it and is not coachable anymore. It's a shame to waste that talent.

obviously he is being punished by his god.

He should have never signed up for religion. People join to get good things but they also agree to suffer all kinds of abuse if that's what their deity wants. Very foolish.
