Everybody is a has been or a never will be.
Except me, of course.

Hopefully he's happy with whatever he's doing. For some people, the world doesn't revolve around trying to beat other people around an oval, and maybe he's found love or something else that has become a bigger priorty. At least I hope it's that and not injuries or something more depressing. Great high school talent doesn't always equate to great collegiate success for many reasons. I wish Bernie the best.
On tfrrs.org it says he's listed as redshirt/unattached this indoor season.

He certainly kept his eligibility as he didn't race for ASU:
http://www.tfrrs.org/athletes/4533641.htmlI was thinking he was a frosh. THis is his 2nd year. Last year, he only ran 4:07? Ouch for a 4:01 guy in HS.
He was 30th in west region in xc which is not bad for a miler.
"Talent does not go away."
If someone knows what's up with him, let us know.
Why would a top high school talent go to a non distance school is beyond me. I hope he learned his lesson and transfers ASAP so he can enjoy his last 2 years of eligibility at a proper distance program.
Got a bit of solid info on him about two weeks ago. Don't want to mention the source but its someone who is close to Bernie. Think he said Bernie had a minor injury for a bit. Then he is dealing with some kind of low count, iron or something like that. Didn't sound serious and they were dealing with it.

I hope that means he's back this outdoor season. Is he gonna be more of the Jordan Hasay 1500m great in HS type that never improved mid-distance speed much in college so moves up to 5k/10k? Or does he have potential to improve on his 4:01 and be competitive in college?

Bernie seems like a genuine mid-D guy whereas Jordan should have been in the 5000/10000 much earlier. Most fans could see that she didn't have the build for a miler.
Got a bit of solid information on him did you? And you "think" someone "close to Bernie" said? Translation...I want to sound cool so I will make up some crap that I know someone who knows Bernie, but I will put" think" in there so I can come up with an excuse if someone comes up with some real information I won't look like a total tool.

Thanks for the info!

I love the "source" posts. Why would it be bad or embarrassing to reveal a source that says he had an injury? The most likely reason? No source actually exists and giving specifics would give it away

Question... what would a milers build be, as opposed to the 5k/10k build?

No, could not remember the first injury item he mentioned. I was very lucky that he would speak with me at all. The conversation was about training and I just asked about Bernie. there was noise and I could not hear real well. I should not have posted. How the heck would I feel cool? Look like a tool? All that matters is it did not sound real serious and they were on it. Hope someone does come up with more info, I don't give a shiaart. Just like to know Bernie is good.

Compare the Olympic champ in the 100 to the Olympic champ in the marathon and the difference in muscularity is clear. In between those extremes is a gradation of muscle mass that are best suited to the other race.
Hasay is a very fast 10k runner but she'll never outkick the true Kiera at 100 lbs.

Heard that Bernie got released from the team and is looking to transfer?? Can anybody verify?

...evidently traded to CU for Saarel. Salary cap issues I hear.
