I ran D1 cross country and track at the College of William and Mary my freshman year of college, but I ended up leaving the team to pursue other interests and place more focus on academics. After I quit I fell into a lull of several months of laziness and now I finally want to start running consistently and getting back into good shape, and I decided I want to do a marathon in the fall. So the reason for this post is advice on developing a training plan for the marathon. Before I quit the team I was running 75 miles a week, each run in the low 6mins per mile, with a max long run of 18 miles. I can still go out and run 5 miles at under 7mins per mile, but I am a long way away from where I was. I still haven't decided which marathon that I want to do, so any advice on which to do in either the Washington DC or Williamsburg, Va area? Also, the primary reason for this post is I would like some advice on how to develop a training plan, and how to go about starting. Thanks
