After 40 years of "distance running" I honestly think that I am done with it now. The axe just fell. But I still love the idea of running most days.
Now my idea of an exciting / satisfying session is: A 1600m jog, a few 50m strides, a 100m to 800m effort, a 1600m jog. I seriously have no interest in running longer than this.
Where will this will take me? Will I be fat and unable to break 3min for 800m in a few months? Or will I actually be a semi competitive old guy (53) at 400m?
I dunno. I think I will be happy though. Getting out the door for about 30min, and running about 4km or so will still give me a hit, I'm sure of it.
Many people quit running altogether for various reasons. I still love running, but I love it in very small doses now.
Is this experience familiar to any of you letsrunners?
