Hasay version 2015

Indeed, following her running closely over the years its obvious she is getting better and better, particularly under the tutelage of Alberto Salazar. 2015 may be a breakout year for her.

I dunno, I'm a huge Hasay fan but I don't see her breaking 15 in the 5k anytime soon. I'd LOVE it if i were wrong, though.

She ran 4:07 last year and 8:46 two years ago. Only way she runs that slow is if it's not a serious race/early season, or she gets injured.

I have to agree here. Hasay and Salazar have clearly found something that works for her and I expect her to continue to improve in 2015. Her 15:28 5k pb is slower than you'd expect from someone who has run 4:07 and 31:39 and I bet that will come down quite a bit this year if she gets in the right race. If you recall, she set that pb at the Portland Track Festival last year doubling back from the 1500 (which I think was only 30 mins before the 5k). But sub-15 is a different ballpark. I think she can get down to the 15:10s, maybe even under 15:10 with a great year, but anything beyond that seems unlikely to me.

Being 1 second off of Shanrow in both the 1000 and 1609 is the most promising performance for Princess Hasay since the '08 Trials. 4:02/14:56/30:5x

Jon, I can tell you that she is unequivocally in 15:10 shape RIGHT NOW. period. I know alsal would prefer this doesn't get out but she is doing workouts now that she's never touched before. based off of what little I know, she will either be horribly injured or burner out, or she will be running close to 15flat (or better) this indoor season. outdoor? sky is the limit.

Based on her recent performances, she could probably run way below her 5k pr right now, but I doubt she can improve by almost half a minute in a year. I have a feeling Hasay is going to be like Rupp and struggle at the 5K for some odd reason. The good thing is that everything she does well at shorter distances points to improvements in the 10K. Hasay has proved she can run a world class 10k pace, but to be a medal contenders, she has to be able to drop 65s the last couple of laps.

She's a real cutie pie. I wish her the best of luck this year. I'll go with 15:01.7 this year.

God please quit talking about her - isn't her 5k time like 50 seconds slower than Molly Huddle? It is like constantly drooling over a male runner - Craig Lutz? - whose PR - 13:50 is 50 seconds slower than a Dathan Ritz. She was fine as a Prep - let it go - she is running times of a decent collegian gal - nothing more.

The question is can she avoid getting lapped and DFL? Doesn't look like any amount of centro sauce or beet juice is gonna do it for that little girl.

The older she gets the more attractive she's gotten. She's a beautiful girl

Her indoor mile would put 6th all time for college and she's likeky to end the season with a time that would put her 1st or 2nd. Decent college girl? 31:39 10k? Yea ok, lots of college girls running 31:39.

She ran 15:26 at USA Road 5k Champs. It was not an ideal day out there too; high 70's and high humidity.

Sub 15 is possible

Improving under Salazar is shady and should carry with it a huge asterisk. It's like saying she improved under Coach Ma Junren.
