I am a sophomore in HS and I want to know what you guys think that I am capable of. I would like to know what you predict my times will be in the upcoming season for the 800, 1600, and 3200. Maybe a road 5k also.
I have PRs of
800-2:15 ish (I am small and not strong at all) *honestly*
1600-5:03.8
3200-10:59.73
5k-17:32
I ran the 800 and 3200 PR during last track season in which i maintained around 15-20 miles per week. We based almost all of our training off of speed and low mileage.
I ran the 1600 PR this past summer running around 40 mpw and no speed training at all, I got 2 hours of sleep the night before and ran it in 90 degree weather in xc spikes.
I ran the 5k PR during this past cross country season in which was the worst season of my life and I dread even looking back at my times because they're an embarrassment of what I was capable of and wanted to run. I ran this with about 25-35 miles per week of training and at my conference meet.
This up coming track season I plan on running around 45 miles per week, and doing lots of vo2 max efforts and workouts.
I am willing to work hard for success and want to run
800- sub 2:08
1600- sub 4:50
3200- sub 10:20 (main focus) *will be training mainly for this*
I also have grew around 4 inches since last year and have gotten a bit stronger as well. Also this year I will have specific shoes for stability and long runs, and flats for tempos and such. Last year my shoes got worn out and crapped out so I had to use old worn down trainers.
