Hey guys,
So my goal for this indoor season is to break 4:30 in the mile and go to states etc. Anyways, the training that I have been doing with my team has been extremely easy. I feel like I am jogging every workout but when I tell my coach he says its just me trying to push myself (I have no idea, he is old but smart) I train with a local kid from another hs. He has a 9:30 pr in the 2 mile but seems to be struggling a lot at practice- I feel like it would be the opposite. Thoughts? I dont talk to the kid or my team much, we don't get along. Thanks!

Mile repeats at 4:50
5 Mile tempo
The other day I ran a race against a joke team and had no one pushing me. Since it was a small meet, I decided to run easy but still race. I got a mile time of 5:25 and Im kinda upset. Am I in 5:25 shape? I need to be a good runner this year. Btw im a sophomore boy. Thanks!
