I feel bad for Dressel because he has so much passion for the sport. I hear he ran 100mpw in previous years so that's a possibility.
Maton... What happened? Anyone know?

At first I thought this board gave Dressel too much crap. However after this weekend I think he definitely needs to loosen up. Did not give any pre-race interviews according to milesplit because he's "focused". I also saw a picture of all the West guys and Dressel was not present.
Dude ran great to come back from a fall just before the hill and still place top-10, but lets be realistic..No offense to him, but he was not going to win this race. Even with the piss-poor live feed, I don't think I saw him in the top 5 the entire race. He was probably too busy face-timing with his internet girlfriend to be bothered with anyone not associated with the Colorado buffaloes..

Gutted that I fell right before you run up the hill a second time, but pleased that I didn't check out of the race because of it. #FLCCC
Maton ??? destroyed Rupp's Oregon course record and you know he was in great shape when he did that.
Too bad NXN is splitting the talent. Even if you think Fisher is the Bomb it's not the same since NXN has split off a portion of the field.
Bummer, I think this kid we end up being better then Fisher.
Do you all think that Dressel is/will be good enough to make the top 5 at CU? CU's top 5 guys are all returning All Americans. How about the top 7 ? If not it would make sense to redshirt him than to blow a year of eligibility as a 6th or 7th man.
And for that matter can Maton make the top 5 at Stanford. I think its a no brainer that Fisher can make the top 5 at Oregon.
Woops I mean can Maton make the Oregon top 5 and Fisher a no brainer for Stanford top 5
I also think Dressel will end up being better than Fisher, and will probably reshirt his first year at CU.

Dressel runs 100 mpw, Fisher runs 50 mpw, and you think Dressel has more more upside? How do you figure?

Same here,
Ordinarily I would really question that thought being how dominant Fisher has been,...but on the other hand most if not many of Wetmores athletes end up outdoing their high school rivals
I heard Dressel turned down a school in the south because it 'didn't fit his academic standards'. He didn't even get accepted to the school.
Dressel seems to be everything that Fisher is not, which unfortunately is not a good thing.
Totally untrue
Dressel was with us West guys the whole time! Those who post crap about him absolutely don't know him!! He's the most down to earth friendly guy you could meet. I've seen a lot of posts that claim he runs 100pw so I asked him... Totally not true! As for not giving interviews, why would you when they print stories that are not true and one sided without getting your story first?? Also, if you haven't been a Footlocker runner you wouldn't understand how distracting the media can be and some of us decide to avoid it.

Do you think Ostberg will be in Stanford's top 5?
Yeah, does anybody know what happened to Maton, or possibly found a post race interview? Thanks

I've not seen ONE negative untrue story about him. Everything typically came directly from Dressel tweeting that then caused all the hate/negativity towards him in the past. He has, again in the past, come across as arrogant, conceited and a little self-righteous in his tweets. (I guess maybe his twitter got 'hacked'...seems to be the excuse from everyone when they tweet something they later have to delete and regret) Nowadays, we get he loves his internet high school girlfriend and he's way excited to be a Colorado Buffalo, good for him. Again, props to him for getting up when he fell towards the end and finishing. Got to be a good sport whether you win or lose.

What the f? Didn't he fall at Border Wars too? Dude needs to learn how to stay on his feet, because he's fallen more times in the last 3 races than I did in my whole career, and I was usually having to run in packs and not crushing everyone.
Dressel just moved up to 4th before he fell. Watch the race video.

The boys race was embarrassing. No one was going to beat Fisher by following behind him. Honestly I think he psyched everyone out before the race even started, and they all ran like wimps. Either that, or else everyone in the field was greatly overrated. However, I think it's the former because of how thick the pack was throughout most of the race, and then everyone was kicking hard down the stretch like they were just starting out.
There are two main points here to make. First, no one is going to win a race by running behind a big kicker. You have to be in front of a kicker to win, and the better the kicker, the more in front that you need to be when he kicks. No one was in front of Fisher when he kicked, and hardly anyone was even close to him.
The second point is that anyone who felt they had no chance to beat Fisher, had no business waiting for the kick! Runners in that category should have been running their fastest pace from the start to the finish, and not waiting for anyone.
Sadly, no one in the race ran that way! I watched the race later on, because the live feed was so crappy, and had to keep fast forwarding through it because everyone was so bunched up and not doing anything. It wasn't a race to me, because no one in it ran a real race, not even Fisher. He just waited for the kick.
