While I no doubt am opening myself up to ridicule, I offer a funny story. Today I visited a chiropractor for back related pain I associated with a 10k I ran over the weekend. Hadn't seen this guy in over two years and he's always good with adjustments. He says I am twisted up pretty good from the lateral ankles, up and questions whether I have a shoe issue. I ran the race in an old pair of Hagio and said maybe it was time to retire the flats. He says he can check me out in my training shoes, and to grab them and come back. So I grab 4 or five different pair and come back.
He then has me stand, facing him and extend my right arm parallel to the floor and hold firm while he grabs a pair of Brooks Launch and holds them up to my sternum. My arm gives way a little and he says "These are bad for you." And does the same with the others.
I'm like "Come on, how in the world is there a correlation here with how these work on my feet?" He replies that the same thing will happen with the shoes on my feet. I scoffed, but he was right. Same result.
Now I'm not buying this for a minute, but I was curious if anyone has had a similar experience?
