I'm registered for a 10k road race on Thanksgiving and the racing shoes that i ordered went out of stock. My only choices now are xc spikes with the pins removed or some old, beat up trainers.
Which should I wear? Would it be ok on my feet to wear xc spikes for a longer road race?
I did do weekly track workouts with my xc spikes this past season. Those all felt fine, but the track is a little more forgiving than the road and the total distance was usually around 7-8k
