The building blocks of protein are amino acids, you can get these in fruits and vegetables. Horses look pretty ripped to me, they're not chowing down the protein shakes and meat. Not saying we're herbivores, we're frugivores.
These are the opinions of many of the world's greatest healers. I remember when I ate more of a standard American diet with higher protein I wouldn't feel as good as I do now that I have more fruit in my diet. You may want to consider being more willing to emphasize more fruit in your diet and see how you feel on it.
Frugivores? Listen, I don't care what the world's greatest woo-woo "healers" have to say on the issue. What I care is what science & logic say on the issue and science & logic say that we are highly adaptable opportunistic omnivores.
I'm sure you DO feel better now that you are not eating the standard American diet (the worst diet in the history of mankind). That doesn't mean fruitarianism or whatever the f*ck is the way to go.
And yes, amino acids, fruits and vegetables do contain amino acids, but plant-based protein (with exception of soy and some other legumes) are a piss poor source of leucine when compared to meat and dairy.
AND LEUCINE IS THE POINT OF THIS THREAD. Leucine is the KEY amino acid when it comes to muscle synthesis in humans and it raises IGF-1 which is also great for getting buff and fit, but cancer cells also finds this stuff tasty as hell.
So what to do what to do? Go vegan? Maybe. But that fruit-based diet stuff is straight up horseshit. Instead, you should have a majority of veg, a little bit of fruit, and round out your calories with nuts and seeds...or maybe eat a whole food diet rich in leucine and animal products and be more fit, but then take your chances on cancer...SHIT IF I KNOW MAN.
